In November, 1871, he came North, stopping in Roodhouse and has resided here ever since. His first work here was on the police force as night watchman, he being the first person to hold this office. In 1878 he was elected Justice of the Peace and served one term. For the past twelve years he has been in the transfer business and is well known to the traveling public.
