I am sending this material in order to help other Painter researchers. There is a lot of material out there which is, unfortunately not correct. This information is taken from court records and documents as well as land documents and census records. I have copies of these documents and have tried to show where they could be found. If you contact me I will be happy to provide you with copies. I am always open to new information and when documented, correct my data. Much of the history of your family is open to interpretation of the documents. My earlier research was internet and history books but I have found over the last 15 years that the real true information is often found in court records especially the Chancery records. I have spent many hours searching these records and am willing to share them when asked. Sharing our family histories is a productive way of researching our past. Most of the Land records and early history was provided by a wonderful Painter researcher, Nanette Harker. She has taught me so much about the responsibility of careful documentation of facts. God Bless her for her time and effort.
Respectfully, Margie Nichols
