Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Lee Czaia,
life-long resident of Rosedale Township, were held Wednesday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Gospel Assembly Church in
Jerseyville with the pastor, Rev. Harry Frazer, and Rev. Eddie
Baker officiating. Interment was in Rowden Cemetery. (Spry –
Rowden; Rosedale Township, Jersey County Illinois)
Visitation hours were held at the Gubser Funeral Home.
The death of Mrs. Czaia occurred Saturday, September 23, at 2:10
p. m., at the Jersey Community Hospital. She had been in ill
health for some time and had been hospitalized on previous
occasions.
Mrs. Czaia was a daughter of the late William T. and Lucinda
Simpson Spry and was born at Fieldon July 11, 1886. Her age at
death was 81 years, 2 months, and 22 days. She had lived on tile
same farm for 70 years. Mrs. Czaia was the widow of Joseph F.
Czaia.
Surviving her are one son, Virgil Czaia of Fieldon, one
daughter, Mrs. Floyd Gaither of Springfield, one foster son, Roy
Scranton of Seattle, Wash., two sisters, Mrs. Asher Bull of
Jerseyville and Mrs. Ada Cummings of Alton, six grandchildren
and two great grandchildren. [1967]
