Mrs. I. Grandy, 80, OF KANE, DIED AT HER RESIDENCE AUG 17, 1891. MRS I GRANDY, WAS THE WIDOW OF ENOS GRANDY. SHE WAS THE DAU OF WILLIAM MYRICK. SHE WAS BORN FEB 12, 1812 IN PANTON, VT, WHERE SHE GREW UP AND MARRIED ENOS GRANDY. THEY CAME TO IL IN 1833. THE ARRIVED AT APPLE CREEK PRAIRIE SOME TIME IN JUNE OF THAT YR AND FROM THERE THEY CAME TO THE NORTH PART OF JERSEY CO, WHERE THEY 4REMAINED FOR A SHOT TIME. THEY THEN WENT TO MACOUPIN CO, BUT ONLY REMAINED THERE 2-3 YRS. THEY THEN MOVED TO THE FARM NEAR KANE IN THE SPRING OF 1837, AND SHE REMAINED THERE UNTIL HER DEATH. SHE HAD BEEN CONFINED TO HER HOME FOR THE LAST SEVERAL YRS.
